Lilina

Currently I’m a bit experimenting with lilina, an online news aggregator.

Take a look at the target site.

The result is ok, but i rather prefer Planet, but this requires Python on the server. lilina only requires php and also looks very good.

live your dreams

Today I found a document, which I never published. Now, after a long time I think it’s time to publish it.

Here it is: bowling.

OK, I know you expected more, but for me it’s special, because this document could be only a few days old, and not 3 years.

iPod

On Saturday I ordered my iPod at the Apple Store.
Yesterday I got the shipment confirmation.
Today Apple reduced the price by 20 Euro.

Aaarghh!!!

Anyway, I am happy because soon I’ll be a fresh iPod owner (and maybe the last who payed 20 Euro more …)

Cocoa

I am currently diving into Cocoa programming. I am impressed about the developer tools from Apple. In particular the Xcode IDE is great (sure, I can only speak about the first look). Xcode is shipped with Mac OS X, there are no additional fees. Now I wonder why Microsoft take money for their Visual Studio. Anyway, I like Xcode very much. But maybe I change my mind when I dive deeper. Lets see…

Basketball

Yesterday was Basketball-Time again. We played for the first time this year. We had a lot of fun, but in the last five minutes I got a bit hurt. Without that injury I think we would have won the game 😉 .

Here is the match report.

Microsoft ???

Once again I can’t understand the philosophy of Microsoft.
At work I use Office 2003 on Windows XP. Since a few weeks I also use Outlook 2003 (Everone makes mistakes 😉 ).
What really makes me angry about Outlook 2003 is Microsoft’s complete ingnorance of the Netiquette. The ‚TOFU‘ – Outlook Mail forwarding style is extremly ugly (I mentioned this before.). And there is NO option to disable this TOFU stuff.

Right now I tried this with Office 2004 for Mac. There is no Outlook, the application is called Entourage. And I wonder, because with Office 2004 for Mac, there you can set your quoting style to confirm to the rules of the Netiquette. It’s not on by default, but there is a option to!

But on Windows there is no option for this! I am scared! I do not really understand Microsoft here. They make better programs for Mac, as for their Windows Platform. Maybe because the Mac is the better OS? I do think so.
And Office 2004 for MAC is better than Office 2003 for Windows. Period.
